Program Notes:
This work is not meant for live performace; it's too hard.
This work marks a step forward in my use of the I Ching in music. With the IC, it's easy to use sets of three; the treegrams, or sets of six; the hexagrams.
A main part of this work is using the four note chords: 1,3,5,7 or 2,4,6,8 (scale tones) so a set of four is used.
Another main part is the chart of the harmonic series', which is an eight tone pattern, because there are eight tones in each scale. So the problem that I have solved is to take the hexagram and double the third and four lines, so for example a pattern: + + - + - + becomes: + + - - + + - + and is used to defien the changing key signatures.
In Four parts:
Part one: I Ching No's 1-16 7:30
Part two: I Ching No's 17-32 4:40 (12:10)
Part three: I Ching No's 33-48 9:00 (21:10)
Part four: I Ching No's 49-64 10:30 (31:10)
