Program Notes:

Recorded at A = 432 for health and greater beauty.

Through world cat library data base, I was able to find Artot's Quartets No.'s 2 & 3 and his trio which I released on CD83, and his trio on CD82.

Quartet No. 1 (12 quartets) was no where. When I had friends over to play quartets, I found in my own collection of old music the Suite no. 1. I never even thought I might already own the music. The copy I own is the only copy I have seen!

There are three suites of 6 Melodies each all seemingly published independently, so I assume there are 18 different little published pieces, or were. I did not go through the process of getting every possible copy to see if there are more than the eight pieces I found. I did a moderate job of searching for these, and It still took me a few hours to really get these eight works organized. There may be more, but for now I am going to say that I have recorded all the surviving works of Jean-Desire Artot.
