Program Notes:

Starting in 1992 Richard played horn for the Bear Valley Music Festival.

He was writing a fanfare for each concert for a number of years From around 1994-1998. These fanfares were played near the end of the intermission to call the audience back to the performance tent at the Bear Valley Music Festival. The fanfares ended when I wrote one using a 12-tone-row. The timpani player went around broadcasting how funny he thought the idea of a 12-tone-row fanfare was, and the somehow ended the fanfares.

5) Bear Wald Septet for Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon, Violin, Viola, Cello& Double Bass, Op. 325

Written within I Ching Scales 38-51 and suddenly change to 44-63

This work is described as "Another wild ride in a sort of expressionist attention-deficit flow that has an strong happy ending (but has hard rhythms for the performers.)

Richard Burdick writes: "This work was written after I performed the Grand Septet (1828) by Franz Berwald. There is a lot of music written for this ensemble . . I like it very much."

"My work was hard to write, I started it a left it along quite a few times before it was complete. I like the uplifting ending."

in I Ching Scale 44-63 (d minor)
with the trio of the Menuete in 34-24

This is a "Little Symphony" that is only 11:15 long. It is small in instrument size too; It could be played by group of only 13 players including the two percussionists.

This was mostly written in November of 2021 but was completed in January 2022.

Mostly in the key of D minor, and it's somewhat in Mr. Burdick's attention defect orchestration style.
