Meditation and Dance
on I Ching 41: Recluse (1:40)
for solo with tape

or quartet with vibraphone, tubular bells, alto metalphone and tape.
on the tape is a symbolic use of the basic soud waves:
saw, triangle, triangle and square
This is the third in a series of microtonal works
based on the new I Ching scales. I wrote quite a few of these in the Airport in December 2010 on my flights from Regina to Sacramento and back, when I went down to play first horn for "Music in the Mountains" Winterfest . . . .
They are primarily 7 instrumental tracks in my version 3 micro-tonal I Ching scale set.
This was a short period in my output where I working on the microtonal set of I Ching Scales. I have one CD from this microtonal period (CD28). I quickly aborted my work in this direction since it is quite weird, and will virtually never get performed. This microtonal system was important in the process of organizational for my set five of the I Ching Scales.
