Chamber Symphony No. 7
"Fragments of Time & Space"
for wind quintet, piano and strings
This work was written in style of over-lapping boxes of musical notation in different tempi. It took me months to decide how to type a computer notation version of it.
I finally went with an approximation of the different over-lapping music (speeds) and re-orchestrated this for a group to closer to what is becoming more standard in my chamber symphonies: wind quintet, (trumpet, trombone, marimba), piano and strings.

In 2009 I wrote: I had been exploring music with free overlapping sections; a height of complexity in a simple way . . . .this came out as one of my last "California" works. It was written for a Trinity Chamber Concerts concert with the Napa composers, Asher Raboy and friends in 2002. The work was too hard to put together in the time we had for rehearsals, so this was dormant until 2009 when I recorded a horn version for my CD “Nice Notes” (CD25 I Ching Music)
