                                              Opus 2

Spectrum I
for Organ and Strings

                                                                                 1978

A work written when Mr. Burdick was in High School.

In this work I used a "spectrum row". A spectrum is a row of all twelve two note intervals:

opus 2 spectrum row

The choice of the term "spectrum" comes from the thought that there are 12 colors of two note intervals.

I like the row very much, any attempts at revision have gone uncompleted. This work may never get a performance due to it's youthfulness.
