Opus 8
Pluto
for Flute, horn, ‘cello and videotape
Completed March 25, 1983
The original version of this work premiered in Circle Concert at Julia Morgan theater Berkeley, CA with James Jacobs on 'cello & Wendy Tamis, Harp.
In the process of the creating the final edition, in 2016, I decided that this would be better if the harp part were pre-recorded, so this now is a quartet with videotape. I have changed very little musically from the original, just added a film. I will not release the harp part; I just think it is too hard, and I don't know how Wendy ever played it!
I will gladly share the score, parts and video file with anybody who wants to perform this, just check the contact page to find out how to contact me.
my opus 8 this work "Pluto" is originally for flute, horn, harp and cello, but I thought the harp part had too many pedal changes in it, so I made a version where the harp is the sound on videotape with a video sort of like flying towards pluto. It has been performed with harp.
