       Opus 9a

The Inner Ring
version for wind quintet

1982

Revision to be done before this work is released.

The Inner Ring for woodwind quintet, Opus 9a 1982
premiere 10/14/82

The "Ring" series of mine is a group a chamber works depicting the planets of our solar system. This work, the Middle Ring for Brass quintet, the out ring for Brass trio and Pluto form a set.

These works are early in my use of the I Ching scales. I had correlated the I ching Hexagrams 49 & up with the Sun and planets.

An etherial musical composition
